Welcome to the Paragonix blog
Paragonix exists so that splitting a bill stops being somebody’s job. From today, there’s a blog alongside the app.
What you’ll find here
Guides. Practical writing about things you actually do: how to split a restaurant bill, how much to tip in Poland, how to settle up with flatmates or after a group trip. We write them to be useful whether or not you use Paragonix — not as a vehicle for selling something.
There’s also a set of pieces about receipts themselves: what the A, B and C letters next to each item mean, how a receipt differs from a VAT invoice, and why your tax number has to be given at the till rather than a week later. This is knowledge nobody explains to anyone, and it can genuinely save money.
News. Short posts about what’s changing in the app — new features, fixes, things we’re working on. Without the marketing tone; if something isn’t working as it should, we’ll say so.
How often
We’re aiming for one post a week. We’d rather publish less often and have something to say.
Something you’d like to read
If you have a question about splitting bills, receipts or group settlements that you couldn’t find a good answer to, get in touch. Questions from users are the best source of topics, because they’re about things that genuinely bother someone.
You can also visit What’s Next and vote on which features we should build first. Votes really do shape the order of work.
To start with, we’d suggest the comparison of five ways to split a bill — including which one quietly penalises the people who aren’t drinking.
